I've used Fedora from FC1 to F15 and before that RH from 2001. All on the same home-build machine. I'm too old to become a geek or a guru, and the computer is purely 'other' for me now, although I've learned some basic administration shell commands out of self-defence. My one big gripe is the need to search other repositories for standard bits of kit like mp3, etc. I can understand Red Hat's policy about this, but I think I've suffered it long enough and will now switch to Mint or Ubuntu. Still, Fedora always delivered, and I will have only happy memories.

Fedora puts out new releases

Fedora puts out new releases on a fairly-strict 6-month schedule (e.g. the next release may be a week early or a couple weeks late, but that doesn't change the following version's 6-month date). i.e. the 11/2009 date shown in the list (that would be fedora core 12) is 10-months old, so there is definitely a newer version available (and fc14 should be out by 11/2010). http://get.fedoraproject.org @bsmdeep - go to the URL above and click on 'Formats' under 'Other Options'. Then scroll to the bottom of the page and see the Online Vendors and the Free Media Program if you're unable to download it yourself. I heartily recommend using a BitTorrent client to download it (use the All Download Methods link on the get.fedoraproject.org redirect), then Seed it at least until your ratio is back up to 1:1. That's faster and more robust than any browser download, and spreads the download bandwidth over many users instead of all on just one mirror employing the usual download methods. There are typically 100 to 300 peers available depending if you choose the x64 or i686 LiveCDs; though less for previous releases. If the 6-month schedule seems like too much 'churn' a slower-release-schedule brethren is CentOS.
